In the last year, we have witnessed an assault on our Constitution, Free Market System, Future Living Standards, and Liberty unlike any in my lifetime and perhaps our nation’s history. Our president, senate and house leadership, and my opponent Dan Maffei demonstrate little understanding of our country’s Constitution, Economy, Liberty, and the Basis of our Past Successes!

For generations we have lived freely and within our means. We have avoided the yoke of an entitled class and unnecessary debt. Yet, in the last year this has all changed.

My name is Mark Bitz, I am running for Congress in the 25th Congressional District. I am 50 years old. In April, my wife and I celebrate 29 years of marriage. We are the extremely proud parents of two sons, ages 16 and 22.

My family has farmed in Upstate New York for 174 years. I began my career in farming at age eight, working on the family farm, alongside my father and grandfather. I earned degrees from Purdue and Cornell, before returning to the farm 25 years ago.

I served as President and CEO of Plainville Farms for seventeen years, prior to selling it in 2007. Currently, I own and operate Central New York Feeds, this area’s largest feed mill, as well as Plainville’s Nature’s Fare, our family restaurant. I also am a founder and partner in Central New York Crops, an organic grain farm. In the last 20 years, I have helped create some 200 private sector jobs.

During my business career, I have been an advocate for a better education for all children, energy independence, sustainability, a prosperous New York State, and government of, for, and by the people, not special interests.

I have always tried to give back to the community via donations, coaching, and serving on and leading various community boards, including the YMCA, 4-H Foundation, Cornell Council, MDA, MACNY, Business Council of New York State, and Lysander Planning Board.

My candidacy is about protecting the Constitution, Freedom, and Future Living Standards. It is about 1) Honoring Our Commitments, 2) Creating Good Paying Jobs, 3) Excellent Education, 4) Affordable Healthcare, 5) Limited Government, 6) Energy Independence, and 7) Power to the People. These policies will cause our population and democracy to flourish.
