Mark will formally announce his candidacy for United States Congress (NY-25) at a news conference at 9:30 AM (Manlius - Stickley Factory) and 2:30PM (Rochester - Employee Relations Associates) on Wednesday, February 24.
Bitz, 50, has never run for public office before. He is the former owner and CEO of Plainville Farms, and is the founder of Central New York Feeds and co-founder of Central New York Crops. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University and a Master of Science degree from Cornell University.
Bitz is seeking to unseat Democratic incumbent Dan Maffei in the 25th Congressional District, which includes Onondaga and Wayne counties, and part of Monroe and Cayuga counties.

A full year before the 25th Congressional District election, Republicans are lining up to challenge Rep. Dan Maffei in a race that has already attracted interest from the national political parties. Four candidates have asked the Onondaga County Republican Committee for its endorsement, and two have already registered their campaigns with the Federal Election Commission.
